County, North Carolina US11. The records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Cecil
County, Maryland state that William Reynolds of West Nottingham Township,
Chester County, Pennsylvania was the son of Henry and Prudence (Clayton)
Reynolds of Marcus Hook, Chester County, Pennsylvania MA49. William Reynolds was
mentioned in the will of his father, Henry Reynolds, on April 12, 1720 CH21. The records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Chester
County, Pennsylvania state that William Renolds, the son of Henry Renolds of
Chichester in Chester County, Pennsylvania married Mary Browne, the daughter of
William Browne, Sr. of Nottingham Township, Chester County Pennsylvania on the
23rd day of the 11th
month in 1723 (January 23, 1723) in their public meeting place in Nottingham BJ1. This marriage ceremony was witnessed by over Hannah Reynolds,
William Browne, Sr., Mary Brown, Sr., Francis Reynolds, Henry Reynolds, Messer
Browne, William Browne, Jr., Richard Browne, Thomas Browne, Samuell Browne, John
Baels, Jr., Jacob Baels, and many others BJ1.
The
records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina
state that after the death of Mary, William Reynolds married Rachel, who was
born on the 21st day of the 12th month, 1721 US11.
The records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Cecil County, Maryland state
that his second marriage to Rachel John, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah John
(who were from West Nottingham but relocated to Cecil County, Maryland),
occurred on the 9th day of the 10th month, 1739 (old style) MA49.
Rachel, the wife of William Reynolds, was said to have been “overtaken with
strong drink” on the 18th day
of the 2nd month, 1747, according to the minutes of the Nottingham Monthly
Meeting in Cecil County, Maryland MA49.
His children,
Jeremiah and David, were granted certificates to the Carver’s Creek Monthly
Meeting in Bladen County, North Carolina on the 23rd day of the 7th
month, 1749 MA49. The minutes of the
Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania state that on the 16th day of the 1st
month, 1750/1, William Reynolds requested a certificate “for Himself and Wife,
and Younger Children, to friends of Carvers Creek, in North Carolina” US11. This certificate to the Carver’s Creek Monthly Meeting in
Bladen County, North Carolina was prepared, approved, and signed by the meeting
during the following meeting on the 20th day
of the 2nd month, 1751 US11,
but this certificate was then transferred to the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in
Orange County, North Carolina on the 7th day
of the 10th month, 1751 MA49. The
minutes of the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in Orange County (now Alamance County),
North Carolina state that on the 7th day
of the 10th month, 1751, William Reynolds produced a certificate from East
Nottingham for himself, his wife, and his children which was dated the 20th day of the 2nd
month, 1751, which was accepted by the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting US11. His son, Jonathan, was received to the Cane Creek Monthly
Meeting in North Carolina on the 7th day of the 5th month, 1757 MA49.
Both
the records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania and
the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that Thomas
Reynolds, the son of William and Rachell (or Rachel) Reynolds, was born on
the 10th day of the 2nd month,
1742 US11. The records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford
County, North Carolina state that Henry Reynolds, the son of William and
Rachel Reynolds, was born on the 18th day
of the 6th month, 1746 US11. The
records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina
state that Prudence Reynolds, the daughter of William and Rachel Reynolds,
was born on the 28th day
of the 7th month, 1747 US11. She
may have been the Prudence Reynolds who married out of unity sometime prior to
the monthly meeting held on the 28th day
of the 11th month, 1767 in New Garden, Guilford County, North Carolina; this
individual was called “Prudence Gosset, formerly Reynolds” at the next monthly
meeting which was held on the 26th day
of the 12th month, 1767 US11. The
records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina
state that Rachel Reynolds, the daughter of William and Rachel Reynolds,
was born on the 21st day
of the 5th month, 1750 US11. The
records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina
state that John Reynolds, the son of William and Rachel Reynolds, was born
on the 26th day of the 5th month,
1756 US11. The records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford
County, North Carolina state that Solomon Reynolds, the son of William
and Rachel Reynolds, was born on the 8th day
of the 12th month, 1760 US11.

month, 1755 at Cane Creek in Orange (now Alamance) County, North Carolina US11. The New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North
Carolina recorded five children who were born to Jeremiah and Susanna Reynolds US11. These were William, born on the 26th day of the 5th or
6th (this number is partially faded) month, 1756, Sarah, born on
the 16th day of the 11th
month, 1757, Mary, born on the 3rd day
of the 12th month, 1759, Hannah, born on the 1st day of the 11th
month, 1761, and Jeremiah, born on the 22nd day
of the 9th month, 1763 US11. The Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North
Carolina recorded the births of eight additional children born to Jeremiah and
Susanna Reynolds US11.

month, 1815; Jerimiah was buried at the Friends Burying Ground at Providence US11.

that David Reynolds, the son of William and Mary Reynolds, was born on

1733 US11. Hannah Reynolds, the daughter of William Reynolds of North
Carolina and Mary Reynolds, who was then deceased, married Stephen Cook of West
Nottingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, who was the son of John and
Elianor Cook of London Grove in Chester County, on the 8th day of the 12th
month, 1755 (new style) at West Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania US11. The records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester
County, Pennsylvania state that Hannah and Stephen Cook were the parents of
Jeremiah Cook, who was born on the 9th day
of the 9th month, 1756 US11. The

that Hannah Cook died on the 19th day

Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in North Carolina on the 7th day of the 5th month, 1757 and died on the 3rd day of the 9th

of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania state that Jonathan
Reynolds died on the 9th day

Reynolds, the son of William and Mary Reynolds, was born on the 15th day of the 11th month,

North Carolina state that William Reynolds, the son of William and Mary
Reynolds of West Nottingham, was born on the 5th day of the 11th
month, 1738 US11. He was a twin to
Mary Reynolds. The records of the Kennett Monthly Meeting in Chester County,
Pennsylvania state that William Reynolds and Elizabeth Parker declared their
intent to marry for the first time on the 14th day of the 5th month, 1761, and
again on the 16th day of the 7th month, 1761 US11.
The
Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina recorded information
about his first, second, and third wives and about William’s children with
those individuals US11. He
first married Elizabeth Parker (she was the daughter of Abraham and Elinor Parker)
US11. The records of the
Kennett Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania state that William
Reynolds, the son of William Reynolds of Orange County, North Carolina, married
Elizabeth Parker, the daughter of Abraham Parker (deceased), late of Kennett
Township, Chester County and his wife, Eleonor Parker, on the 29th day of the 7th
month, 1761 at the Kennett Public Meetinghouse in a ceremony witnessed by
Eleonor Parker, David Reynolds, Elizabeth Chads, Henry Reynolds, Mary Reynolds,
and others US11. Their marriage certificate was returned to the Kennett Monthly
Meeting on the 13th day of the 8th month, 1761 US11.
William and Elizabeth were the parents of David Reynolds, who was born on the
29th day of the 6th
month, 1762 and died in the 3rd
month of 1763 US11. Elizabeth (Parker) Reynolds
died on the 1st day of the 7th month, 1762 US11.
William
Reynolds, the son of William Reynolds of Orange County, North Carolina, secondly
married Dinah Jackson, the daughter of John Jackson, late of East Marlborough
Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania (deceased), on the 10th day of the 10th
month, 1764 at London Grove, Chester County, Pennsylvania US11. William and Dinah were the parents of John, who was born on
the 18th day of the 9th
month, 1766, Mary, born on the 12th day
of the 10th month, 1768, and Elizabeth, born on the 5th day of the 4th
month, 1773 US11. Dinah (Jackson)
Reynolds died at age thirty-one on the 10th day
of the 4th month, 1773 US11.
William’s
third wife was Ann Hutton, with whom they were the parents of seven children US11. These were Rezin, born on the 21st day of the 2nd

Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that William
Reynolds died on the 13th day
of the 8th month, 1787 and that Ann (Hutton) Reynolds died on the 9th day of the 9th
month, 1824 US11.

the records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania and
the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that Mary
Reynolds, the daughter of William and Mary Reynolds, was born on the 15th day of the 11th month,
1737/8 US11. She was a twin to William Reynolds. The Cane Creek Monthly
Meeting in Alamance County, North Carolina which occurred on the 5th day of the 7th
month, 1755 state that a report was made that Matthew Osborn and Mary Reynolds
were married US11. The New Garden
Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina recorded that Matthew
Ozburn, the son of Matthew, married Mary Reynolds on the 24th day of the 6th
month, 1755 HI4. The records of the
Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that Mary
Reynolds, the daughter of William Reynolds, married Matthew Ozbun, the son of
Matthew and Isabel Ozbun US11. The
records of the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina
state that Matthew and Mary Ozbun were the parents of Abigail, born on the 26th day of the 9th
month, 1756, Hannah, born on the 6th day
of the 2nd month, 1758, David, born on the 29th day of the 10th
month, 1762, William, born in the 11th
month, 1764 (the day was illegible), Lydia, born on the 24th day of the 1st
month, 1767, and Mary, born on the 3rd day
of the 2nd month, 1770 US11. The
records of the Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state
that Matthew Ozbun II and Mary were the parents of Matthew, who was born on the
23rd day of the 9th
month, 1773 and died on the 24th day
of the 2nd month, 1785, and Jeremiah, who was born on the 5th day of the 1st
month, 1781 US11.

Center Monthly Meeting records state that Abigail Ozbun, the daughter of
Matthew and Mary, married William Way on the 11th day of the 4th
month, 1776 HI4. The records of the
Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that Hannah
Ozbun, the daughter of Matthew and Mary, married Joseph Stout on the 10th day of the 10th
month, 1776 HI4. The records of the
Center Monthly Meeting in Guilford County, North Carolina state that Lydia
Ozbun of Randolph County, the daughter of Matthew and Mary, married Abner
Barker on the 26th day of the 5th month, 1791; on the same date, Lydia’s sister, Mary, married
John Barker HI4. The records of the
Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in Orange (now Alamance) County, North Carolina
stated that Jeremiah Ozbun of Randolph County, the son of Matthew and Mary
Ozbun, married Sarah Davison on the 26th day
of the 11th month, 1801 HI4.
Mary Ozbun, the daughter of William Reynolds and the wife of Matthew Ozbun,
died on the 13th day of the 12th month, 1804 and was buried two days later at the Center
Friends’ Burying Ground US11.
The

the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Cecil County, Maryland state that Mary
Reynolds, the wife of William Reynolds, died on the 1st day of the 7th
