Samuel Sawyer (William, Ruth) was born on November 22, 1646 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts to William and Ruth Sawyer MA26, AP2, CU8. “Sammuell Sayer” stated that he was about eighteen years old in a deposition at the Ipswich Quarterly Court on March 28, 1665 DO14. Samuel was made a freeman of Massachusetts on May 12, 1675 AP2, EM1, and at some point, he became a lieutenant AP2, HO11.
