Abraham Estabrook was likely the son of Thomas Estabrook and
Sarah Temple, who lived in Concord. Thomas Estabrook and Sarah Temple married
on March 11, 1683 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Thomas Estabrooke was the father of Thomas
Estabrooke, who was born in Concord on August 6, 1685; a Concord marriage
record states that Thomas Estabrook and Elizebeth Parker were married by
Reverend Joseph Estabrook on December 18, 1707 MA26. This Thomas (son of Thomas) who married Elizebeth
was probably the brother of Abraham Estabrook. Thomas Estabrooks, the husband
of Sarah, died on January 28, 1720/1, and Sarah Estabrook, the widow of Thomas
Estabrook, died on November 29, 1726; both died in Concord, Middlesex County,
Massachusetts MA26.
Abraham
Estabrook and Martha Brabrook, both of Concord, were married by Justice Minott
on September 30, 1718 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Abraham was a cooper and owned a cooper's shop which was located in Concord AM1. Abraham
Estabrook, the husband of Martha, died on May 3, 1729 in Concord, Middlesex
County, Massachusetts MA26. Abraham Eastabrook of Concord died intestate,
and the administration of his estate was granted to Martha Eastabrook, his
widow, and Eleazar Brown, a weaver from Concord, Middlesex County,
Massachusetts, on June 22, 1730 AM1.
Martha Brabrook and
Abraham Estabrook were the parents of Martha, Mary, Zerviah, Hannah, Huldah,
and Mary MA26. Martha Estabrook was born on October 18, 1718 in
Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Mary
Estabrook was born on February 19, 1719/20 in Concord, Middlesex County,
Massachusetts and died on September 11, 1727 in Concord MA26. Zerviah Estabrook was born on February 9, 1721/2 in
Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; Zeruiah Eastabrook, the daughter of
“the Widow Martha Eastabrook” died on December 11, 1736 in Concord MA26. Hannah Estabrook was born on March 26, 1724 in Concord,
Middlesex County, Massachusetts and died on August 1, 1753 MA26. Huldah Estabrook was born on April 1, 1726 in Concord,
Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Mary
Estabrook was born on March 20, 1728/9 in Concord, Middlesex County,
Massachusetts; Mary Eastabrook, the daughter of “the Widow Martha Eastabrook”
died on November 20, 1736 in Concord MA26.
Twenty-six
years after the death of Abraham, Martha signed her mark on a document relating
to the administration of his estate AM1:
Carlisle June 30/1755 I Martha Eastabrook
Administrat[r]ix on the Estate that my Husband Abraham Eastabrook Formerly of
Concord Died seized of have Received full satisfaction out of the Personal
Estate that was Inventoried and
Exhebited in ye. Probate office
and the Improvement of the Real Estate for all my Trouble and sevice of
Ademinstring on Sd Estate and Likewise for my Trouble of bringing up
Several Childred [sic] that was underage and Do by these Presents aquit and Discharge the Heirs of ye said Abraham Eastabrook viz Martha Eastabrook and Huldah Eastabrook from
any Further Demands that I Could or ought to have for my service as above
mentioned witnes my hand and seal the Day and year abovesd

Because
Abraham Estabrook died intestate, Martha Estabrooks and her two surviving daughters,
Martha and Huldah Estabrooks, came to an arrangement
regarding the real estate held by Abraham and divided the land equally in a
document dated December 16, 1756 which was signed by all parties and witnessed
by Abel Farrar and Benjamin Brown AM1. This document also mentioned that
Abraham was a cooper and owned a cooper’s shop in Concord; it has been
transcribed below, although some sections have been
omitted AM1:
Know all men by these Presents that whereas Abraham
Estabrooks Late of Concord in the County of Middlesex and Province of the
Massachusetts Bay in New England Cooper Died In testate. and Whereas Martha
Estabrooks, and Huldah Estabrooks, both of Said Concord Single women being the
only Heirs to Said Estate and Being Legally Capable to Act are Come into the
Following agreement for Dividing the Same in Qantity and Quality: the Homested
Contains Seventy one acres and Forty Seven Rod and Do by these Covenant and
agree that Said Martha Estabrooks her Heirs and Assigns For Ever Shall have her
Half in the Southerly Part of Said Land. Lying Scituate in the Northerly Part
of Said Concord and Contains Thirty Four acres and
Twenty Three Rods. and the sd Huldah Estabrook her Heirs and
Assigns forever Shall have the Northerly half Part of Said Land Containing
Thirty Seven acres and Twenty Five Rod the whole of Said Land is bounded as
Followeth Easterly on Groton Road Northeasterly on Thomas Davis his Land and on
Land belonging to the Heirs of Benja Temple Deceased westerly on Spencers
Brook till it Comes to a Ditch then Runing Southerly with Said Ditch to a stake
then turning & Runing westerly with a Fence to Said Brook there with the
Brook to the Corner of Land belonging to Benja and Abigail Dudley then with said Dudleys Land and
Land belonging to the Heir of Richard Temple Deceased to Abishai Browns Land
then with y. sd Abishai Browns Land Joshph Flagg, the Heirs of
Eleaza Brown Decasd and another piece of Abishai Brown Land till it
Comes to Groton Road above sd the Dividing Line begins at a stake and heep of
Stones by sd Groton Road between the House and Barn from thence Runing West twenty
two Degrees and a half south till it Comes withing Six Rods of The Corner of
said Dudleys Land then Runing westerly the sd Spencers brook Leaving four Rods wide
at the Brook for the Conveniency of a watering Place to the said marthas Half

And also another piece of Land Lying in Said Concord
Containing Four acres and one Hundred and Twenty eight Rods and is Divided
Equally Between the Parties above sd in Quantity said martha having the
Southerly half Part and said Huldah the Northerly Half Part and ye Priviledge of a wattering Place on ye Easterly Side of ye Southerly half Part and a Passing and Repassing thereto with Cattle as
there Shall be occasion when the water Shall be Dried away in the Northerly
half and also a Coopers Shop Standing on ye Southerly half Part Shall be Equally
Divided Between the Parties: The whole of the Land Bounds westerly of Groton
road Northerly of Thomas Davis his Land Easterly with Abishai Browns Land So with a Stone Wall till it Comes to Said Groton
Road. and the Premises afore said to be and Remain to Each Party their Heirs
and assign Forever as Set forth and Divided and All the Remaining Estate Either
in Concord Acton or Elsewhere to be Divided between the two Parties in Equal
Halves. And Martha Estabrook, widow of the said Abraham Estabrook Deceased
Shall Have the use and Improvement as her Dower or Righ[t] of Third in Said
Estate During her Naturel Life…
I together with my Two Daughters Martha Estabrooks
and Huldah Estabrooks have hereunto Set our Hands and Seals this Sixteenth Day
of December Anno Domini one Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty
Six and in the Thirtieth year of his majesties Reign… Signed Sealed and
