John Heald ★ (John, Eunice) was baptized on January 18, 1633 at All Saints Church in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England (“Johanes filius John Heald baptizat xviij Januarii”) WE27. He was born about 1633 or 1634, as he stated that he was forty-seven or forty-eight in a deposition given on August 3, 1681 MI28. John Held married Sarah Dane on June 10, 1661, according to the records of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. He was called the eldest son in the last will and testament of his father, John Heald of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, which was dated April 19, 1662 AM1. John Heald owned over eighty-five acres of land which were distributed across four different parcels north of the land owned by “Widow Heald” in the north quarter of Concord, Middlesex County SH23 and described on December 26, 1666 CO43. The description of these parcels referred to his mother, who was actually his step-mother; a transcription follows CO43:

John Heald, Isaack Temple, and Roger Chandler were witnesses to a deed from Richard Temple, Sr. of Concord to John Barker, Sr. of Concord on February 27, 1689 CO43. This deed did not specify if it was John Heald, Sr. or John Heald, Jr., and it did not state “1689/90”, meaning it is possible that the elder John Heald did witness this deed as one of his last acts before his death. Sergeant John Heald, the husband of Sarah, died on June 17, 1689, according to the records of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. The inventory and appraisal of the estate of “Serjant John Heald” was conducted on June 17, 1689 by Henry Woodes, Lieutenant Simon Davis, Samll Davis, and Roger Chandler, and included AM1:

Sarah Dane (Thomas) was the mother of Elizabeth, John, Gershom, Sarah, Eunies, Hanna, and probably Dorathy MA26. She was the daughter of Thomas Dane (or Dean) of Concord; she may have been born after her brother, Joseph Dane (who was born about 1638) and perhaps before her sister, Mary Dane TH41. Sarah Heald was called the daughter of Thomas Dane in his undated will which was proved at Cambridge on June 20, 1676, in which he bequeathed “a p^ [probably “piece”] of land between my sonne Joseph, & my daughter Pelett, & foure accrs of land by mr flynts farme path, & halfe my fourescore and ten accrs lijng [lying] by Mr Prouts farme” MA64.
Elizabeth Held, the daughter of John and Sarah Held, was born on April 15, 1664, according to the records of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. She may have been the Elisabeth “Hall” who married Thomas Chamberlain on January 9, 1690, according to a transcript of the Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts records MA26; Clarence Torrey indicated that Thomas Chamberlain married Elizabeth Hall/Heald on January 9, 1690 TO1. If she was the wife of Thomas Chamberlain, they were the parents of five children whose births were recorded in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, and one child (Sarah Chamberlen) whose birth was recorded in Groton, Middlesex County MA26. Their children were John Chamberlain, born on March 29, 1692, Joseph Chamberlin, born on October 11, 1693, twins Moses and Aaron Chamberlin, born on July 3, 1695, Gershom Chamberlin, born on October 18, 1697, and Sarah Chamberlen, born on May 23, 1699 MA26. Elizabeth Chamberlin, the wife of Thomas Chamberlin, Jr., died on June 13, 1699, according to the Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts records MA26
John Held, the son of John and Sarah Held, was born on September 19, 1666, according to the records of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26.
Gershom Held, the son of John and Sara Held, was born on March 1, 1667/8 or 1668/9, according to the records of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Gershom Heald married Hannah Parling on February 19, 1689/90, according to the Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Hannah was the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Hanmore) Parlin PA22. Hannah Parling was born on August 8, 1670 Nicholas and Sarah Parlyn (or Parlin), according to the records of Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. Gershom (or Gershome) and Hanah Heald were the parents of six children whose births were recorded in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts MA26. These were Gershom, born on January 5, 1690/1, Sarah, born on December 27, 1692, Eliazer, born on September 22, 1696, Thomas, born on February 10, 1698/9, Hanah, born on August 19, 1701, and Dorothy, born on February 2, 1704/5 MA26. Another Concord birth record indicates that Ester Heald was born to Gershome Heald and Ester, his wife, on October 21, 1709 MA26; because Hannah Heald was called Gershom’s widow in his probate record, it seems reasonable that this birth record was written or transcribed incorrectly. Gershom Heald of Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts died intestate sometime before May 30, 1717, when the inventory of his estate was conducted AM1. The administration of his estate was granted to both his widow, Hannah Heald, and to John Heald on September 23, 1717 AM1. The children of Gershom and Hannah Heald were written on a document filed with Gershom’s probate record, and the list stated “six children Gershom eldest son… Eliezar 2d Thomas Hannah Dorothey Hester” AM1. The inventory of his estate was conducted on May 30, 1717 and was appraised at over 134 pounds AM1:
