David Reynolds (William, Mary), the son of William and Mary Reynolds, was born on the 1st day of the 1st month, 1727/8, according to the records of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania US11. The records of the Kennet Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania state that David Reynolds, the son of William Reynolds of Orange County in North Carolina, married Mary Parker, the daughter of the deceased Abraham Parker, late of Kennett in Chester County, on the 7th day of the 4th month, 1756 (April 7, 1756) in a ceremony witnessed by over fifty individuals, including Eleonor Parker, Henery Reynolds, Samuell Reynolds, John Reynolds, Lydia Parker, and Elizabeth Parker US11.

On May 3, 1779, David Reynolds requested a tract of 650 acres of land on the “head waters of Allamance and polecat” in Guilford County, North Carolina, but he did not receive this land until May 16, 1787 ST28. The bounds of this land grant include the terms “link” and “chain”, which were standard units of measurement; one hundred “links” was equal to sixty-six feet or four “poles” and was also equal to one “chain” UN24.
